Chris McIlvaine—Dixie Saw Works
EO Birmingham member Chris McIlvaine and his company, Dixie Saw Works, are preparing to double their footprint in the city of Birmingham. The company has invested more than $1 million in an additional 20,000 square feet of building space and about a dozen new employees. This new space will allow for robotic weldings and future process expansion.
Dixie Saw Works provides laser, plasma, and waterjet cutting services to both OEM suppliers and other companies in a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive manufacturing, engineering, industrial design, and much more.
Chris Wilder—SEPCO
A team of business leaders from Alabama has traveled to the UAE to strengthen business ties and explore new opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa. Among those leaders is EO Birmingham member Chris Wilder of SEPCO. The UAE was Alabama’s 19th largest export market in 2018, with exports including defense equipment, industrial machinery, and aircraft. Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield led the delegation.
SEPCO provides high-performance mechanical seals, compression packaging, graphite products, and gasketing materials. Their other specialties include die-formed packing rings, molded PTFE parts, thermal management solutions, and fiberglass products.
Mark Griffin—Blue Eagle Consulting
A television spot is always exciting! EO member Mark Griffin of Blue Eagle Consulting was recently invited to appear on Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland. The popular business program airs on Fox Business and Bloomberg Television, and although there isn’t yet an air date, these behind-the-scenes photos are definitely something to talk about:
